I do think it is beneficial for students to register for all four semesters at once. Mostly because this gives the student the opportunity to find out which courses are being offered for those sessions and this way, they can adjust their program of study accordingly. I know in the past I have left taking a course during the Fall or Spring semesters thinking that I could take them during the Summer and surprise, surprise, that course wasn't offered during the Summer session. I was left taking that course by itself during the following Fall session and that was a complete waste of time. Also, there are many part-time working students and even full-time working students that attend classes. Knowing beforehand what their schedule is going to look like will help them re-arrange their schedules at work with plenty of time in advance.
